Blain Fullbrook was born and raised in Derryville Ontario. At the age of six his musical talent manifested itself with two first place trophies (for solo voice and solo piano) at the Sunderland Lions Musical Festival. Later in life, at the age of fourteen, he won first place, in his age class, and second place, in the age class above him, at an all Ontario County music competition, for guitar, the instrument he plays to this day.
In his early twenties, Blain moved to Toronto and began writing songs and playing in bands. He gained some notoriety when he got airplay of a song he’d written (Small Town Girl, re-recorded for his current CD) while playing with a band called Smooth Perlman and the Mellow D’s.

Blain moved to the folk scene with a popular Irish band called Brean Derg Muc which lead him to co-founding the Vital Spark Folk Club with Bobby and Alison Watt and Jim and Isabell Fell. He continued playing, though, with Bobby Watt, the Cajun Ramblers, David Stone (a popular Cape Breton songwriter) and Three Ugly Guys. After moving back to the area where he grew up he started a blues/swing band called The Fabulous Belvederes, named after the famous Belvedere Hotel in Pefferlaw Ontario.

Blain (with his musical and artistic friends) recorded his first solo CD named, after the town where he grew up, Derryville
DERRYVILLE (the CD) is a collection of Blain’s songs written about life in Derryville (the town).

DERRYVILLE (the CD) is full of poignant songs and stories about everyday life in a small town in Ontario. These songs and stories reflect the musical experience and lyrical cunning possessed by Blain. A “must have” CD!

Blain can now be found on tour singing and playing the songs from his CD
